    Monika
    Country: Poland
    Sending organization: TRATWA
    Program: European Voluntary Service
    Activity: October 2017 – August 2018
    Scope: Maternity center & Kindergarten

    About volunteering:
So many things have changed. I gained a lot of new experiences – mainly with children (healthy and disabled), I presented my country in schools and restaurants, and also acted as a guide and translator during my trip to Poland. My knowledge of foreign languages (English and Czech) has improved.
The most important changes, however, took place in me – speaking to a group of people has become less frightening, holding a small child on their hands too 🙂 A lonely trip for one day to Switzerland? No problem. To Slovakia? Sure why not? What to be afraid of?
EVS is a really great solution for young people; an option to use. I think that there are so many reasons for leaving for the European Voluntary Service. Some need to learn a language, others – gain experience. Still others – they want to meet a new culture, new people.
I wanted to gain new experience, learn Czech and travel. And I do all this to a greater or lesser degree;)

    – Monika

    Daniela
    Country: Italy
    Sending organization: Scambieuropei
    Program: European Voluntary Service
    Activity: October 2017 – October 2018
    Scope: Maternity center & Kindergarten

    About volunteering:
I was totally unhappy with my job (and I had to be glad at least to have one!), with my relationship and with my hometown. And one day I just decided to quit with all of these thoughts, these fears and these tortures and hold the wheel of my life in my hand.
Are you scared? Don’t be. It’s one of the most wonderful experiences that you could ever try, and if you are thinking about changin’ your life, then…stop it! Just do it, take control of your life, start taking deep breaths and…BREATH THE LIFE INSIDE YOU AND OUTSIDE YOU! So maybe this could be the right moment for you to start livin’ again! Don’t miss the chance to be happy.
PS: Of course Czech Republic is amazing!

    – Daniela
